Okay. I said I'd interview myself right ? Now here it is. Been quite busy so didn't have the time to post. Now I do !!!

CK: Hello Chiaw Khim, first of all, how are you doing ?
Me: Great but tired cause of work. Still doing fine though.

CK: Alright, let's get this started. First of all what are your favourite teams?
ME: Manchester United, AC Milan, Real Madrid.

CK: Anything related to sports you want to let people know about you ?
ME: Yeah ! Though I may be a Manchested United fan, sometimes I like to watch my football from a neutral point of view, people flame me for enjoying Liverpool play or what, but it's because I enjoy the sport that it's not like I'll boo every team that opposes Manchester United. Heck even at one point I was enjoying Chelsea play, until they got boring.

CK: Okay, so how was your weekend ?
ME: It was great ! I went to see Novak Djokovic play against Jo Wilfred Tsonga in the finals of the Thailand Open 2008. It was a great match however Tsonga beat Djokovic in 2 straight sets to win the finals. After that I headed home to watch F1, the first ever night race in Singapore ! It was brilliant although Ferrari screwed up pretty badly.

CK: That's great, I watched it too, enjoyed it as well. So what was the latest music album that you got ?
ME: Death Magnetic by Metallica !

CK: Cool, that's my favourite band.
ME: Really ? Me too !

CK: Alright, on to the next question. How are you now in Thailand ?
ME: Good and bad. I'm enjoying myself here, it's a good experience really. The food is awesome ! The bad is because I put on weight when my initial plan was to come here and lose weight ! Well, not only that, sometimes I get very bored and I'll really miss my friends.

CK: Wow, okay I don't know what to add to that. What is your latest ambition ?
ME: To convince my boss to change that crappy website of his.

CK: Erm, okay let's hope no one see's that last part. Stay tuned for the 2nd part soon !

Back to Singapore, Back to Thailand

Friday

Went back to Singapore for a short period to visit my grandma, she looks okay.
When I reached Singapore then they told me she's low on salt and the operation was delayed again.
So with my primary objective done, which is vist my grandma, I had other objectives to do.

Sunday

Watched Step Brothers with Pris, I kept laughing my ass off ! It was a damn freaking funny movie ! You guys should not miss it. Not to miss Will Ferrell and Adam C. Riley working together. Kick ass movie.

Went home to rest before the big match ! Chelsea vs. Manchester United !
Manchester United looked set to end Chelsea's unbeatable home streak for 4 and a half years, when late in the game, an unmarked Kalou headed in Chelsea's equaliser. How disappointing, both sides did not play well, Man Utd even got fine for the number of yellow cards they received.
Vernon and Wilfred came over to accompany me for the match, glad to have them around.

Tuesday

Arrived in Bangkok yesterday, while I was on the plane I realised I forgot to buy stuff back for my colleague, smacked my head and kept doing my sudoku and drinking my Pineapple rum.
My PS3 is up and working here ! Not to mention, my 2nd objective was to bring that baby over.

Mission Accomplished !

Next up will be me interviewing myself.

It's pouring here in Bangkok.

Thursday.
Had dinner near my place with a huge group, the peeps from STCC and Joycelyn, the TP grad who came to Bangkok with her friend. Had fish maw soup and crab meat fried rice, it was damn good. After that I went to watch Bangkok Dangerous. Forgot to mention that I also met Brian's girlfriend who was with us, Amanda.

Friday.
Yesterday I went for dinner at Asok before heading back to On Nut.

While at Asok, I met Sherlyn. Brian's friend. Before we headed back, I saw a quick accidental flash of hot pink. Kept quiet. That memory will last. It's Hot, hot pink.

Had a little drinking session with the Thai guys again. Next weekend I'll be cheering on Manchester United with them against Liverpool.

Not to mention, next week is my cousin's 21st birthday as well. I'm damn sad I can't make it.
I'm so sorry. I actually had plans to go back that week, but the situation here forbids me to do so.

Saturday.
Went to Chatuchat market ! OMG !
I told myself that I must remember what happened at MBK, I will learn my lesson and just window shop and buy a couple of stuff.
I ended up spending nearly 2000 baht again !!!
Bought like, a lot of shirts and 1 basketball shorts.
Bought a shirt for Raymond also, I love what it says on the shirt. Just afraid it's too friggin' small.
I will be back there soon. Not so soon I guess.

Chatuchat is a horrible place, it's energy draining, and when you say you just wanna see what's in the shop, 70% of the time you end up buying something from there.
Better save up for my next trip there.

Tired. Damn tired. After the Djorkovic and Federer match, I'm off to bed.

Back from movie today.
Watched Nicolas Cage in Bangkok Dangerous !

No no, if you'll thought this had something to do with the protest, really no. I'm fine.

It was an action packed movie, little nudity scenes.
Cage was like Agent Fisher + that guy from Assassin Creed + that silent scope guy.
Yeah, that's about the char.
Placed in Bangkok to assassin 4 people, but his life changed in Bangkok.
And OMG ! The actress, I soo LOVE her now you know !
Charlie Yeung !

Just realised she's 34 this year. Hmmm.
Anyway I really like her.

It's a State of Emergency !

It's been declared ! So far it's still peaceful here in my area Phra Khanong.
On the day it was declared, we went to stock up a lil on food and such. Me and Dean stocked up more on snacks. It should get us through.
However there really isn't such a need to be in such a panic. All the thai's don't seem to be in panic. They're probably used to it.

Been monitoring the news, even my boss was on the news.
So far not much development except the Foreign Affairs Minister and Kevin Keegan resigning.
Hold on, Kevin Keegan wasn't sacked. The Magpies seem to be holding on to him for now.

Been doing my work. Finally I have more channels on the TV ! My boss was kind enough to fork out 80% of the fee for the channels and I just have to share 20% with Dean ! I'm going to repay back his kindness with better and more efficient work ! He's been very nice to us.

I think I've gained a lot of weight since coming here. Crap. The maid's cooking is good. Too much rice I guess. Heck almost everywhere has good food. Cheap and good !!!

My Mom just told me that a scan revealed that my Grandmother has 2 tumors, 1 big and 1 small. I'm looking to see if my visa doesn't require renewing if I leave Bangkok. I really hate to be in such a far away place at such a time. I hope to be there in time for the operation. I can't be in peace like that. Even though if they say she might be safe. I still can't settle my heart with that.

Bangkok is in a mess now, well so is my head.

Do Not Mess With The Trannie !

Yesterday night, was my first clubbing experience in Bangkok.
Honestly I don't know if it was the same as the other clubs, or did we just want to go somewhere cheap.

The whole area was damn huge ! With many different clubs in the area. Some looked shabby and looked grand and expensive. We went to this V club which had a live band performing. We got a bottle of whiskey for 1000 baht and we managed to get a damn low class table.

The live band was a band of females ! Huge turn on as they were all very pretty !
The solo's by the main guitarist !
The rhythm guitarist !
The lead singer !
The bassist !
I dunno about the drummer.

They were good, although I didn't understand most of it.
I realized Thai people love the Zombie song.
In your head ! In your head !!! ZOMBIE ! ZOMBIE ! ZOMBIE IE IE IE IE !!!

There was one bad point about this place though...
It was full of trannies !!!
We were placed beside a group of young guys. Then 2 girls came over to sit with them. Somehow inbetween us. One girl said she liked my friend, my friend wasn't interested, her friend somehow sat beside me. She smelled horrible. I didn't sit close to her and I could already smell her ! OMG !
Me and my friends said that we couldn't tell how hideous she look had the light not shone on her ! She had a mole + a hideous face ! URGGGH !!!
I quickly shifted myself away more after I got a glimpse of her face. I think she's a trannie.
The other girl who looked more like a girl. Ended up sitting with my thai friend and they started talking and he told me he doesn't believe she's a girl. More on that later.

Soon after the live band ended, it was the DJ spinning, but the DJ couldn't shut up. Kept lowering the music to talk on the mic. Damn it.

Brian said to try everything in Thailand, he danced with trannies, made friends and he asked us to go to the dance floor. Pulled me and Dean along. Oh btw ! It was Dean's first clubbing experience, what a horrible first.

On the way to the center of the dance floor, there were a lot of trannies where I tried to avoid, Dean got caught by one of them but he managed to pull away from them. Heng ! I couldn't stay for more than 2 minutes on the dance floor with trannies all around, I hauled myself out of there and went back to the table.

Soon there were .. 'show girls' on the stage, well I can guess 90% of them aren't real ladies.
I just sat around longer, went to the toilet, as usual I shimmied past all the trannies. When I went to the urinal, I felt a light soft touch on my neck and I freaked as I was about to pee ! It was actually a hot towel put on me by the service guy in the toilet ! He was giving a massage ! I freaked out as I thought some trannie or gay came up from behind I totally jumped you know ! So I let him give me the massage although I found it difficult to pee with someone touching me from behind, had to tip him later, but hell I just wanna see what is it like.

Made my way back and soon the club closed at 2 where the lights came on. THAT'S THE WORSE PART !

Dean later told me one of the "girls" flashed on stage, lucky he only saw the part where the flash was ending and saw nothing !

We made our way out and it was like any typical end of club thing. Where there are a lot of people getting a taxi, one lane on the road was filled with people flagging for cabbies, and a lot of them were unsuccesful as most of the cabbies ask for a flat rate instead of the meter cause they would lose out on going far. We tried to negotiate with a lot of cabbies for 1 hour until we managed to get one to get us back to our apartment.

While we were standing outside, a fight erupted, a huge group of young trannies were fighting with a small group of guys. Wow. Never mess with them ! I saw the way he/she grabbed the guys here and nearly smashed it to the ground. One of the people amoung the trannies group was the girl that sat with my thai friend tonight, well now we probably know the truth since she insisted she was a girl earlier on.

Phew. What a night.
Then now I wonder, was the band real ladies ? Yeah they should be. I'm sure about that.

Thursday.

Attended a seminar by Digital.com at Novotel Hotel which was located in Siam.
Boring seminar IMO, kind of useless to me but i did get some ideas from it for my work.
Can tell the difference from the Singapore speakers and the Thai speakers, one group had energy, the other just boring.

Since we were in Siam, my boss told us to go shopping. For a moment we thought he was so nice to sponsor us money for dinner and some shopping, until Dean realised that he actually passed me 100 BHT and not 1000 BHT. LOL

We decided to skip Siam Square and head over to MBK !
Once we were there, we walked until we entered an area with a lot of clothing !!!
Me and Dean decided to go our separate ways for the time being to do our individual shopping.

First stop ! The non-original soccer jerseys which I've eyed since I entered the place ! It took me a while to decide on what to get, so I got myself the new white away jersey for Manchester United with Ronaldo's name and number on it.
I also got a Spain Torres jersey and the Barcelona jersey with Messi's new number on it.

Forgot to mention earlier I got myself a Spongebob Square Pants shirt that had slurping ape on it or what. Not sure, but of course it's not an original, but it was cute. Wanted to get some Happy Tree Friend shirts also, prob keep that for later.

I continued to venture on in that particular area of MBK and got myself a green Frosty Flakes shirt and a blue Fruit Loops shirt. Together with a gay looking Rolling Stones shirt. Maybe a bad choice...

Was that all I got ? Oh yeah and an All Black polo tee as well. Haha. Might get Australia next or what.

Friday.

What did I do on Friday ...

Oh ! It was Mod's last day at work and I didn't see her leave. Oh well.
I packed some clothes and decided to head over to the C1 Mansion Apartment that Brian and Sheng Wei were staying.
Went there to swim to get some exercise !
Gonna try to keep that regular. I can't run on the streets here.

Saturday.

Slacked the whole afternoon, till early evening, me, Brian and Bad boy went for a Thai massage. It was damn good I tell you. We didn't go for any special massages or what, but this massage parlor was well known. My masseuse was this huge lady who told me to relax, it was a lil painful but good. Up to a point where she man handled me into a 'full nelson slam' hold then she stretched my back over both sides and behind which was damn shiok !

So much for the massage, went over to a small shop to watch soccer but then realised they didn't pay the bill so there wasn't any soccer ! Crap.

Sunday.

Didn't do much, woke up early and headed over to the C1 Mansion to see them all sleeping. We decided to head over to Central World for dim sum buffet, choices were damn limited ! It wasn't that nice but I won't say it's expensive, it's cheap.

After that damn filling lunch, we headed over to Platinum which is more of a shopping paradise for ladies. Nothing much there interest me except maybe some shoes I guess.

After that we headed over to MBK for a movie !
Death Race !
Pretty good movie, won't say it's excellent. Still nice though, has a hot babe in it ! Woo !
Headed back home after the movie, having dinner know at home while watching soccer online.

I'm starting to miss Singapore a bit.
I miss my PS3 more.
I also miss my mom.

One Bloody Sunny Afternoon to a Horribly Raining Night

Tuesday.

Decided I needed to buy some shirts to wear as I only had a few pieces.
Me and Dean decided to make our way and experiment going to Thong Lor.
We wanted to go to Playground! where the Lonely Planet book said it's a place for teens. So we took a taxi all the way to Thong Lor Soi 55, started looking for it, even the taxi driver didn't know ! I checked out the site earlier today and it was down, I thought it was kinda strange but didn't want to believe that. So we tried to call the number listed in the book, also couldn't get through. So we alighted somewhere along Soi 55 and started to look for it ourselves.

I decided to start off by asking a cafe, True Cafe. Asked if anyone spoke english, this girl did and I asked where Playground! was. She told me near the police station, we went past there earlier so I guess it would be easy. Made our way there still nothing, so we continued down until it started to rain and we hauled our asses out of the rain into a provision shop where there was shelter. I asked this pretty lady where Playground! is, she looked at the book and asked her guy as he came out of the store, he told us to go back down.

We waited awhile for the rain to die down a lil before we ran our way there. On the way over the rain got heavier so we took refuge in a Starbucks. First thing I did was to ask where Playground! was. He told us it was closed for renovation. DAMN IT.
So we bought some drinks to sit down and wait for the heavy rain to die before we tried crossing the road over to find another place called J'Avenue which when I asked the starbucks guy was opposite the road near by.

J'Avenue was quite a high class place. Restaurants, bowling alley and a supermarket that had a lot of imported goods. It's a place more for the 'Farengs' which is foreigner in Thai. The stuff there was expensive ! I needed a small mirror for the table and it was priced at 490 baht ! I bought a magazine that featured Metallica and decided to try out the Thailand FHM. The cover had english and thai on it so i figured inside had english as well. I can't read thai ! It was all in thai ! But just flipping through it would be enough. Haha.

Took a cab back to Phra Khanong and went to Jusco to buy a table mirror that cost only 70 baht. We did more grocery shopping that actually amounted up to 1367 baht ! Damn it !

Wednesday.

Decided to leave our office/home earlier straight after work so meet up with Brian and Sheng Wei for dinner at their office at Asok. Asok is like the CBD area. And so far everywhere I went, there was always a pretty girl. Thank god for Thailand !
After that me and Brian wanted to cut our hair. Made our way down by cab over to On Nut. On the way we talked a lot of crap and we say this tranny on a motorbike taxi. Disgusting.. and scary.

Tesco Lotus ! We cut our hair at a saloon, I cut mine very short and Brian did too, realised my top was quite straight unlike in Singapore when I get a hair cut at least there's more shape to it. Brian's back was also quite straight.

Bought a shirt over at Tesco to last me a lil longer before I go crazy at Pratunam or Chatuchat !

Went back home after that since I was yawning occasionally through out the whole day in the office. Too tired.

Thursday.

Not much has happened so far. Don't think I have plans for tonight.

I think I'm sick due to getting caught in the rain. Shit.

Friday was a good day. In the evening there was a farewell party for Mod, one of the workers here who's leaving on the 22nd. No ! She's the only one who could speak better english ! The rest don't ! Well only one does but his english is very very basic.

We went to a lake restaurant called Lake Hill. It was a KTV restaurant. I started to learn that the Thai's loved their karaoke. There were thai songs and english songs as well. I only sang like, 2 songs or what ? The rest sung a lot, there was seafood which was good ! There was also whiskey !
I slowly drank and ate while they sang and they had a little competition by our boss. The best singer will get 500 baht. So they just kept singing and dancing, it was very fun. I took some videos for my journal.
It ended with a draw in both male and female category and each winner got 300 baht, this was used to motivate the workers.

In Thailand, their work culture is very slack, they won't do things unless you tell them to and you have to constantly remind and push them. On the very first meeting I was already appointed leader with Dean to lead some assignments !

Oh ! I also learnt that Thailand has a popular band called Bodyslam, they really have nice songs, although I don't understand what they are singing. A lot of pretty singers as well. =D

The traffic here is horrible I tell you. Jams everywhere, I sit in the car until my butt hurts.

On saturday night, we had nothing to do, so we went over to Brian's place, had lunch, did a lil' grocery shopping. At night we had dinner at a small market, the food is good, but I have no idea what is it they called it.

After that me and Brian sat outside their apartment building at the road side to join some locals in a drinking session, Brian brought down the Jack Daniels he got from Dean from DFS. They like to drink their whisky with soda, no not the F&N ice cream soda, soda water. I easily got used to it. They also brought down a lot of food as one of them closed up their pork noodle store which is nice by the way. So we had one huge plate of chicken, dried cuttlefish, crispy dried huge ikan billis, seafood salad with pork and medium rare beef which was spicy and chewy !

That's all I can remember, made friends, one was the stall owner, another a policeman and one was known as "Bad Boy". That's his nickname, nice friendly guy, he'll bring us around when we have the time and he speaks good english, has a Japanese wife and 2 kids.

We finished the bottle, after that Dean decided to stay over while I wanted to head on back and try to catch the soccer match online. Could've taken a cab which was cheaper but decided to take the motorcycle taxi which was more expensive since it was out of their area that I was going to. It was SHIOK. Here's a picture from that night, probably too dark though.

Pre-departure post, and I'm in Bangkok !

Honestly I took so long to post this I completely forgot everything I wanted to post.

There were so many outings !

I had dinners, BBQ and just meet-ups or lunch and movies !

Dinner with Michie, Sufiyan, Derrick and Benedict was good. Although I kept getting grilled like the grilled chicken at Astons. Michie couldn't keep her mouth shut and Derrick joined in the constant grilling, even Sufiyan chipped in ! Haha.

Also had a Minds Cafe session with Raymond, Miche and Sufiyan. Learnt that Raymond and Miche are DAMN cunning ! Couldn't tell that they were the people trying to sabo us ! That night was fun too. Although I did miss Xanthe badly that day cause she didn't join us.

There was also a BBQ with my family and my brothers were invited. Arif, William, Benedict, Justin and Felix all made it. The BBQ was great, and I played Rock Band with the guys ! Justin's singing could break glass and my uncles asked who was making so much noise. Haha !
It was all still fun and I was so glad they could make it ! =D

Then there was also lunch with dear Priscilla at Outback Australia and the fried mushroom there is heavenly I tell you ! Ribeye was also great ! Like chewing gum like that. Haha. It was followed up by watching The Dark Knight on the opening day ! Great move I have to say, I kept thinking it was going to end at some part but than it was only halfway through. Lol. I had a great time with her. =D

Then there was also lunch with another dear Dominique ! Had discount at Tony Roma's ! Damn filling lunch ! We wanted to hang around somewhere else and have Magarita's but Dom hadn't watch The Dark Knight so I accompanied her to watch it again, I understood the movie more clearly this time. Haha. Before the movie we also played pool ! I think Dom managed to beat me a couple of times even though she did kinda suck. Self admitted k. Haha. I also had a very good time with her. =D

And not to mention dearest Novea also. Accompanied me to buy my Crumpler and stuff, and the Rock Band times I spent with her are fun. Too bad we didn't have a last session before I left Singapore. She gave me a Giraffe plushie key chain on my bag to remind me to lose weight. Sweet.

Which leads me to me telling my friends I can go Bangkok and lose weight, escape from the food paradise of my home and Singapore. They scolded me stupid and told me the food here is great and losing weight there was a stupid idea and I should come back with a few extra pounds. Haha. Damn it.

I also had a clubbing Session with Raymond, it was a very brief one though, at MOS.

Way before that I had a heavier session where I knocked out after a lot of drinks, but the time was only about 1-2 am. Try to imagine how much I had before that time. Haha.

Guess what, my excess weight amounted to a whooping $252. I had to take out some clothes and leave my PS3 behind only for it to join me a few weeks later when my parents come over to find me.

There was a huge surprise, Priscilla was there to see me off other than my family, my other friends couldn't make it. Some sick, had school or work. It was such a shocking yet pleasant surprise to see her there. Really sweet of her.

Dean's my mate going to Bangkok with me and Berlinda was also there to see us off, she's Dean's classmate.

Went in and i bought a Chivas with me to Bangkok. Lol. The flight was okay, the meal on the flight was great also ! Chicken rice or rather pasta. Mini toberlone bar, and Haegen Daz !
Once I was off the plane, it was a bloody long queue to get past the immigration counter. After collecting our luggages, I bought a HUGE toberlone bar ! =D And a huge pack of mixed Kit Kat Chunky variety !

Well, I'm going well so far. Everything is good. My office is next to room where I sleep. The office/house is still mostly under construction. So it's still dusty and not every toilet or light is functioning properly, and I have a maid living with her family on the 4th floor ! Haha.

People, I'm still doing good so far, please don't worry. =D
I miss you'll a lot already.

Driving Trip

Went gym today. Well not the point for today.
I finally got permission to drive the car without supervision ! Woohoo !!!
Picked William up from Tanah Merah MRT and we were off to the Airport to welcome Qian Hui back ! I must say that my driving has improved by a lot ! Haha.
Maybe cause there were lesser cars, but anyway, I felt I drove way much better.
Driving good, parking good, although still take abt 2 tries to get it nicely in position, as in not too right or not too left. Haha.

Waited for a while to see Qian Hui come out, chatted awhile, then we headed to Simpang Bedok. There were 2 cars, mine and Nixon's, both family cars so that's why can fetch a lot of people. Haha.
Once again, parking, not bad luh.

After supper, we headed to Parkway to play a little bit of pool before heading home.
Had quite a nice day, I'm exhausted now.

Someone special told me to be like a Giraffe. =)

Deleted my whole blog to create new one.
It's like forgetting the past to start off new again.
That's exactly what I want it to be, of course I'll still remember them, but I'll try to forget them.
I'm back here and will start a new blog here for my overseas internship to Bangkok.

Will try to update as much as I can about my life, this blog probably will just be one escape route for me.

Enough about that, besides Vegas, I want to plan with my friends a trip to Hawaii, now how long should I put this plan ?
8 years ? After Vegas ? Together with Vegas ? I don't know, but I really do want to go there.

Just watched Hellboy and Forgetting Sarah Marshall today, enjoyed Forgetting Sarah Marshall a lot. Really sweet movie that was very funny as well.
